Wilson Kibler Brokers the Sale of 200 Verdae for $13.5 million

Greenville, SC (May 20, 2019) – Wilson Kibler’s Edward Wilson and Robert Carter represented the seller, ET III Greenville, LLC, in the recent sale of 200 Verdae Blvd. for $13.5 million. Cushman & Wakefield | Thalhimer’s Kacie Jackson, SIOR, Laura Harmon and Kyle Berdugo represented the purchaser, the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES). NCEES plans to occupy the building.

NCEES is a national nonprofit organization that develops, administers, and scores the examinations used for engineering and surveying licensure in the United States.  It also facilitates professional mobility and uniformity of the licensure processes through services it provides for its member licensing boards and licensees.

“We were fortunate to represent a seller with a demonstrated interest in the long-term health of the Greenville office market. Once occupied, this sale will lead to one of the largest net office absorbencies in Greenville County over the past two years. We believe NCEES will be a great asset to Verdae and enhance Greenville’s outstanding engineering reputation. NCEES is a national nonprofit organization made up of the engineering and surveying licensing boards from across the United States and its territories. It provides a range of services to support licensure and public protection, including developing the exams used to license professional engineers and surveyors.

“The new headquarters will provide a better position for the growth of the organization and allow NCEES to better support its member boards and the professions of engineering and surveying,” NCEES CEO David Cox said in a statement. “NCEES is entering its second century of advancing licensure for engineers and surveyors, and this move will help us better fulfill our mission to safeguard the health, safety, and welfare of the public.”

NCEES brings hundreds of professional engineers and surveyors from across the country each year to its headquarters to assist with exam development. Therefore, the move is also expected to have an annual economic impact of $1 million for the Greenville tourism and hospitality industry, including local hotels, catering, restaurants, and transportation.

The relocation will be completed in the spring of 2020, which will coincide with the organization’s 100th anniversary.
